Parliamentary Activities

In July 2012 she was elected a Parliament Member from Serres prefecture and reelected in January 2015. For her first parliamentary term she was a member of the following committees: Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice and Special Permanent Committee on Equality, Youth and Human Rights. For her ongoing parliamentary term she is a member of the following committees: Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs, Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice and of the Special Permanent Committee on Equality, Youth and Human Rights.

Political/Social Activities

She has studied medicine in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been active in the university occupation movement against law 815, as a member of B’ Panelladiki and Syspeiroseis. In 1985-86 she was the secretary of the Community Doctors, Midwifes and Nurses Union of Drama prefecture.
She was a candidate of the “Radical Communist Ecologist Leftist Initiative” in Serres prefecture in November 1989. During the 90s she was a member of parent associations and the president of the Parents Associations’ Union of the municipality of Serres. She has taken part in the Greek Social Forum, in mobilizations for the alternative summits of 2003 and in the European Social Forum of Athens and Istanbul, as a member of the World March of Women.
She was a member of AKOA until its self-dissolution in 2013. She is currently a member of the Network for Political and Social Rights, of SYRIZA Feminist Policy and Gender Department and a founding member of the local elections party “Diavasi Pezon”. She has been running in local and national elections since 2002, as a Serre municipality or department candidate
. She has also been a member of the SYRIZA Pan-Hellenic Coordinating Committee and the Central Committee until July 2013. In 2008 she was elected as an alternate member of the Serres Medical Association Disciplinary Board, which she represented in the Greek Medical Association from 2008 to 2011.
In July 2012 she was elected a Parliament Member from Serres prefecture.
