Parliamentary activities

Elected PASOK MP for Viotia in the 1981, 1989 (June), 1990, 1993, 1996 and 2000 general elections. Member of the Standing Committees on Social Affairs, on Production and Trade, and the Committee for the Revision of the Constitution. PASOK parliamentary spokesman on matters pertaining to National Defence, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Public Administration, Public Order, and Justice.

Social activities

Appointed Minister for the State on 07-07-2003 to 10-03-2004. Deputy Minister for Agriculture, 15-09-1995 to 22-01-1996. Member of the Centre Union Party (1961-1967). Began publication of the newspaper Anendotos Viotias (The Unremitting Struggle of Viotia) on 15-07-1965. Founding member of PASOK in 1974; later served as a member of the PASOK Prefectural Committee for Viotia. Chairman of Olympic Airways, 03-09-1985 to 23-05-1989; took over as Chairman of Olympic Catering, Olympic Aviation, and Touristiki, Olympic Airways subsidiaries, on 13-01-1987.
